Anthony Germano
Anthony Germano,
1105 N. Division St., died at 2:15 a.m. today in his home. He had been ill for
the last year.
Born in
Regio Calabria. Platì, Italy, on Sept. 3. 1878. Mr. Germano came to Mishawka
from Italy in 1927. He married Nunziata Sergi in Italy in 1903. He was employed
by the city street department until his retirement in 1955.
Surviving,
besides his widow, are three sons, Frank, Dominic and Joseph, and four great
grandchildren, A daughter, Miss Mary Germano, died on July 1, 1950.
Mrs. Nunziata Germano
Word has been received of the death on June 8. in Plati, Italy, of Mrs. Nunziata Germano, 91, formerly of Mishawaka. She was born on March 25, 1887, and had lived in Mishawaka between 1928 and 1962.
As Nunziata Sergi, she married Anthony Germano in Platì. He died on Oct. 3, 1960. She is survived by two sons, Frank Germano of Mishawaka and Joseph Germano of South Bend, six grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children.

Note - Nunziata Sergi (Annunziata all'anagrafe di Platì) era figlia di Domenico (alias Simone), bracciante e Maria Spagnolo, contadina. Sposò Antonio il 16 febbraio 1904.

Anthony Germano, all'anagrafe Jermanò - difficile definire la paternità in quanto in quel 1878 al comune risultano registrati due Antonio Jermanò figli di due Francesco - era zio di Rocco Germano, anche lui Jermanò, che rivide la luce qui:
Annuziata was my great aunt and lived with my grandparents Giuseppe Sergi and Teresa Zappia for a short time in Indianapolis Indiana USA before she returned to Plati. I have her passport photo but I don't know how to post it here.
