Di Suor M. GEMMA GLIOZZI
O Signore, fu un giorno la tua voce
che replicò insistente: “ Vieni a me”.
Mi offrivi per retaggio la tua croce
invitandomi a seguirti o Re dei Re.
Forti vincoli di amore onesti e santi
alla famiglia mi tenevano unita,
come spezzar però tuoi inviti amanti?
Non osai farlo e a Te donai mia vita.
Abbracciandomi la mamma nel partire,
santa, diletta, amata mamma mia,
la vidi allor tremare e impallidire;
come smarrito, triste in quell’istante
emise un solo grido: “ Fina mia”.
Ciccillo, Rosa, Cata io pur lasciavo,
con Peppe, Iola e Amalietta mia,
mi fu compagno Ernesto nel viaggio,
lenendo ancora un po’ la pena mia.
I vostri sette nomi o miei fratelli,
ho qui stampati, incisi nel mio seno;
ve li stampò l’amore invitto e forte
che ci legò, ci lega e mai vien meno.
Ora per me pregate che a quel Dio
cui allora con fervor mi dié
fedele ognor mi serbi
e sempre unita,
sorretta dall’amore e dalla fé.
E il sacrificio mio sia al cielo accetto,
e a voi ottenga grazie ed ogni ben.
Questo è l’augurio mio ora in terra,
sarà il mio voto ancora un dì nel cielo!

Remember
Sister M. GEMMA Gliozzi
O Lord, was a day your voice
insistent that said, "Come to me."
I offer you for your legacy cross
inviting me to follow you or King of Kings
Strong bonds of love and honest saints
I kept the family together,
But as breaking of your invitations lovers?
I did not dare to do it and I gave my life to You.
Hugging her mother in starting,
holy, beloved, my beloved mother,
Then I saw her tremble and turn pale;
my heart suffered extreme agony.
Then making me stronger than your strength,
not to see me suffer even more:
"Go, dissemi, it is God who commands it"
and telling me blessed.
But his countenance noble and beloved
together with that of my good father
is so strong imprint in my chest,
that one day death will find it here.
My dad took me to the train,
and signal that this was going away
as missing, sad at that moment
uttered one cry: "Fina mine."
Ciccillo,Rosa, Cata while I was leaving,
with Peppe, Iola and Amalietta my
I was Ernesto companion on the journey,
soothing a little 'worth mine.
Your seven names or my brothers,
I have here printed, engraved in my breast;
I love them printed invincible and strong
we tied, binds us and never fails.
Time for me to pray to the God that
which then gave me with fervor
I evermore faithful Serbs
and more united,
supported by the love and fidelity.
And my sacrifice is accepted into heaven,
and thanks to you and all get well.
This is the wish mine now on earth,
my vote is still a day in the sky!
